About the Artist

Ava Freeman believes, as do most dedicated artists, that great satisfaction comes from the gift of creativity and the act of sharing beauty with others. Her unique style exploits bold vibrant colors while maintaining a delicate sensitivity.
After receiving a B.A. Degree from East Texas Baptist
University in 1966, Ava taught in public schools for seven years. She then returned to school and studied art full time, for two years, at North Texas State University. She has also studied privately under many well known artists/instructors, but feels that the best training comes through practice and a constant desire to improve.
In 1976, Ava opened her own small art gallery in an artist mall called Olla Podrida ,in Dallas, Texas. It was a very special mall where many artists practiced their craft and shared their artistic ideas with each other. The mall attracted local shoppers as well as many tourists, therefore Ava's paintings are now in collections nationwide. Also, while at Olla Podrida, Ava taught watercolor and oil painting classes and shared her artistic concepts with many enthusiastic students.
Several art publishers and greeting card companies have published and marketed Ava's paintings, including
Home Interiors and Gifts, Inc., Scafa-Tornabene Art Publishing, Impulse Wear, J-Mar, Inc., Red Farm Studio, Megapress of Japan, Candimar, Inc., and Daydream Publishers
Currently,  Ava paints in her home studio where she  lives in Texas with her husband and two cocker spaniels, Romeo and Juliette.
Ava's goal and sincere hope is to provide a source of satisfaction and pleasure to all who view her paintings.
